It’s 11 Jun, which means its cutting time for some of the lines for other sports to be let-in to the pitch. You can see rolls of yellow lines waiting to be installed. You can see in the photos the sewn-in white 11-a-side hockey markings and the cross-pitch 7-a-side blue Ds.
Despite some “interesting” weather this week in East Devon, there’s been some amazing progress. In the space of just a few days, the pitch has been transformed. In today’s update: new goals have arrived for small sided games; the bright blue surround has been fitted; new fence netting installed; wooden protection boards are in and…
Lots of progress is expected this week at the Ottery astro. In our last post we reported that the turf had been delivered and the first 3 rolls of green turf had been laid down to cover the area up to the 23 at the far end. Just a few days later and there’s been…
The SIS team started to lay and join the new rolls of green astro carpet today. This will take several days and will be followed by the blue surround – marked on the photos by a white dashed line. Whilst some lines are pre-stitched (the lines that run across the pitch), the “Ds”, P Spot, etc…

The completion date for the Ottery re-surfacing project has been put back by 2 weeks due to major fire at SIS’ warehouse in Maryport, Cumbria on 25th April. The yarn that was to be used to make our pitch went up in a huge fire that made national news. More yarn is being air freighted…
