The SIS team started to lay and join the new rolls of green astro carpet today. This will take several days and will be followed by the blue surround – marked on the photos by a white dashed line. Whilst some lines are pre-stitched (the lines that run across the pitch), the “Ds”, P Spot, etc (and most football markings) are cut and inserted once the complete surface has been laid.
After all that, 80 tons of sand will be used to dress the pitch – it also stops it from blowing away!
