Parents & carers

Welcome! We hope that your child(ren) will take full advantage of the opportunities they have to play hockey in our Club.

This section gives you the information you need to understand the arrangements we have in place for your child and to clarify what you can do to support them.

Go here for Junior hockey admin basics. Please speak with your child’s team manager for up to date team information.

Clubmark Accreditation

We were delighted to receive national Clubmark accreditation in Jan 2017. This kitemark accreditation identifies clubs that have the arrangements for their members to enjoy playing our sport in the right environment. We were the first club nationally to gain this recognition under the new national standards and were named as England Hockey’s “Club of the Month” as a result in January 2017!

Safeguarding

We have put the necessary arrangements in place to keep your child safe and protected whether they are playing in the junior or senior sections of the Club.

It is Club policy that key volunteers, including coaches, junior team managers and all our senior team captains meet basic safeguarding requirements as specified by our national governing body, England Hockey. As a minimum they: agree to follow the Club’s codes, policies and procedures (when the register initially on Pitchero), undergo a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check and complete England Hockey’s Safeguarding and Protection awareness training. Lead coaches are also required to hold a current Emergency First Aid Certificate – subject to the first aid cover provided by the facility being used.

Change of Circumstances

If your child has any change of domestic or carer arrangements, address, telephone number, medical condition, etc., please update your details in Pitchero or let our Club Membership Secretary know ASAP. It is important our records are kept up to date for health and safety reasons, for GDPR regulations and to ensure you are able to receive relevant correspondence.

Club Shop

sidmouth-ottery-shopping-mall-logoWe’re always looking at ways to keep membership fees and match subs as low as possible. The Shopping mall helps us to make hockey accessible to everyone by earning a very small amount from practically every on-line purchase you make – without costing you a thing! Our Club Shop has just about every on-line retailer you might ever want to use. It is really impressive, even though we say so ourselves!! Check it out.

Code of Conduct

The Club’s Junior Code of Conduct is an important part of being a member of our Club. Please familiarise your child with it and help them understand what it means if they have any questions.
