There’s lots of progress to report today.
The shock pad has followed the playing surface to the recyclers. The lower fence panels have been removed and all the kerb stones have been lifted and are ready for removal.
You can see on the photos the black base tarmac layer; the contractors have cut trenches into this to take drainage pipes and gravel. They’ve also dug a trench on the Skate Park side of the pitch to intercept any surface run-off.
We’re currently discussing with East Devon District Council the best arrangements for fence height, line markings, goals, pitch-side recesses and dug-out facilities. Money is tight so, we need to prioritise what we need against what we would like. Hopefully we can reach a suitable compromise that suits everyone.
