Both England and Wales are playing in the 2023 Hockey World Cup taking place in India, starting next Friday (13th January). They are in the same Pool (D) and will play each other in their opening game; Spain and India are the other teams in Pool D.
We are excited and proud to see that Jack Pritchard, one of Ottery Crickets HC ex-players (circa 2005-11) has been selected for the Wales squad. Jack, Charlie Pritchard’s son and Maisie’s brother, started as a Junior with Ottery Crickets and, through his teens, rose quickly to become a regular for the Club’s 1st XI before departing to Cardiff Uni in late 2011 and joining Cardiff & Met HC. Some of us will remember that Jack was also an excellent cricketer. It was during 2012 that Ottery Crickets HC and Sidmouth HC joined forces to form the Club we are today.

13th Jan 1130 – England 5-0 Wales.
15th Jan 1130 – Spain 5-1 Wales.
15th Jan 1330 – England 0-0 India.
19th Jan 1130 – Spain 0-4 England.
19th Jan 1330 – India 4-2 Wales.
All times are local UK times.
Following the usual “cross-over” games after the Pool fixtures, the Final is scheduled for 29th January.
